Due to the presence of the country’s oldest university, this town is
internationally renowned as a student town with the most famous alumni being our king Willem Alexander. Leiden though has more to offer and was the 2nd town of the country during the Golden Age. Like Amsterdam Leiden has a splendid centre of canals with many highlights. Our guide will show you these during the walk. Fine examples are the St. Peter church, the old town hall and the canal Rapenburg with the university.
